What is Giving Day?
Giving Day is an excellent way to double the impact of your donation. PTC’s Board of Directors has promised $37,000 in potential matching funds. We need your help to raise that amount or more. If we can raise these funds, it would be an enormous lift for PTC.
Penobscot Theatre Company is celebrating 50 years of creating engaging, excellent, and meaningful theater in the heart of Downtown Bangor. We want to continue serving as a place for the community to gather, reflect and celebrate. Ticket sales account for 60% of our annual budget. We must gather the remaining 40% through foundational giving and individual donations.
Please consider making a donation on May 14th – we have challenges throughout the day that greatly increase the power and impact of your gift.
Information will be updated every two hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., you can find out what challenges are still available, and what goals have been met. Challenges are calls to action to solicit support or show your support of PTC.
Matching Opportunities
- Early Bird: PTC was founded in 1973, so the 73rd donor of the day will have their gift of any size matched (Up to the first $5,000))
- DA Class Time Matching: ALL gifts made by DA parents between 3pm and 5pm EST will be matched (Up to an accumulated total of $3,000 in gifts of any size).
- Happy Hour Matching: ALL gifts made between 5pm and 6pm EST will be matched. (Up to an accumulated total of $5,000 in gifts of any size.)
- House Opening Matching: The theatre usually opens its doors for seating at 6:30pm so ALL gifts made between 6:30pm and 7:00pm will be matched. (Up to an accumulated total of $3,000 in gifts of any size.)
- PTC is currently in our 50th season, so the 50th donor to give $50 will trigger a $500 matching fund gift.
- Giving Day is 5.14.24, so the first 10 donations of $514.24 will be matched.
- Because PTC was founded in 1973, the first 5 donations of $1,973 will be matched.
All-Day Participation Challenges
- For every 10 different DA Alumni who contribute any amount, an additional $100 matching fund gift will be unlocked
- If donations of any amount are made in honor of 15 different PTC past or present ensemble members an additional $1000 matching fund gift will be unlocked
- For every 100 unique donors who contribute any amount, an additional $1000 matching fund gift will be unlocked.

Get the word out in support of PTC! Invite your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and business associates to join you in supporting PTC and DA. Remember, the more support given, the better your chances of unlocking matching funds to double your gift!
