A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Performance Track)
Grades: 2nd through 12th
Tuesday & Thursday 4pm-6:30pm
Class Dates: 9/8-11/8
Bring the Shakespeare classic to life this fall!
Lysander is in love with Hermia and she loves him back, but Demetrius is in love with Hermia and Helena is in love with Demetrius. Thanks to the meddling powers of the fairy, Puck, the four find themselves caught up in a comedic and magical web of miscommunication. Meanwhile, the King and Queen of the Fairies (Oberon and Titania) are fighting, wreaking havoc on the weather. And Nick Bottom and his theater troupe struggle to rehearse their play for the Duke of Athens!
Students will be cast in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and perform the play on stage at the Bangor Opera House in November. Class time will be spent learning blocking, movement choices, and how to act while speaking in verse. A great challenge for theatrical students of all ages!
