DIRTY DEEDS DOWNEAST
A WORLD PREMIERE ARRIVES AT PTC

Bangor, ME – Penobscot Theatre Company is thrilled to bring this world premiere to the Bangor Opera House stage in its second Mainstage production of the celebratory 50th Season. Artistic Director Jonathan Berry directs this dark comedy, written by Mainer Brent Askari. This who-dun-it delivers a delightful mix of locals and visiting artists, both onstage and off.

Kenneth W. Stack (Louis)

Lucy Carapetyan(Betty)
Ben Layman (Gerard)
AJ Mooney (Edith/ Margie)
Brad LaBree (Dick/ Cole)

“Beneath the seemingly still waters of a coastal island lies a hotbed of infighting and intrigue. The only officer is a hapless laughing stock and the colorful residents run roughshod over any law or order. For Gerard, the officer in question, respect is hard to come by. But when a cantankerous lobsterman goes missing, Gerard leaves no stone unturned in his investigation. No one could’ve predicted the dark island underbelly he’d expose, or that it would lead him to question everything he knows. A comic caper with unexpected depth!”

The production team includes Tony Gerow (Lighting Design), Jess Ploszaj (Scenic Design), Neil E. Graham (Sound Design), Angela Bonacasa (Fight & Intimacy Director), Mary Clark (Props Design), Kevin Jacob Koski (Costume Design), Reed Davis (Production Stage Manager) and Jenna Gripshover (Assistant Stage Manager.).
