Student Matinee Registration Information

• Student Matinees begin at 10am.  Lobby opens at 9am and House at 9:30am
• Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for chaperones
• Concessions are available for pre-order after booking tickets.
• Exclusive to Student Matinees, following the performance is a 10 minute talk back with the cast & crew.

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch stole Christmas the Musical

Mr Grinch’s heart is two sizes too small and he hates Christmas. Unfortunately for him, he lives just above Whoville, and the Whos LOVE Christmas. He must endure their singing, decorating, gift giving, kindness, roast beast, and far too positive outlook. What’s a Grinch to do? Ruin Christmas, of course! With his faithful dog Max, Mr Grinch carries out a plan to stop them once and for all, only to learn a lesson about opening his heart to the real meaning of Christmas.

Run Time: 90 minutes (no intermission)

Payment Policy

All payments should be made prior to attending a student matinee.  Payments can be made via check, cash or card.  Checks should be made payable to Penobscot Theatre Company.

• Payment for the The Grinch student matinees must be made no later than Wednesday, November 11th.

Snow Day Policy

In case of snow, there are snow dates planned to reschedule school reservations.  Snow dates will be utilized if the Bangor School District calls a snow day on the day of a performance.  In the event of inclement weather that does not affect the Bangor Area, schools are encouraged to notify the box office of cancellations.  PTC will try to rebook tickets if possible.  If unable to reschedule, a refund will be processed.

Drop Off & Pick Up

• Buses are welcome to drop off in front of the Bangor Opera House (131 Main Street)
• We encourage buses with younger students to park on the same side of the street as the entrance to the Opera House as there is no crosswalk in front of the theater.
• Buses can find parking on 1st Street in Bangor or Water Street while room allows.
• Schools will be dismissed by a PTC staff member as their bus pulls in front of the theater.  An informational form will be sent to schools after booking to best ensure an easy pick up and drop off.
