The Bangor Opera House turned 100 this year!
Do you want to be a permanent part of Bangor history, the history of the Bangor Opera House and the history of the Penobscot Theatre Company?
Then this is your moment.
This grand old home has seen many performers trod the stage and we hope to see many many more. We’re doing our best to steward the Opera House through its second century and beyond! If we want to keep our home in tip top shape, we need your help.
By becoming a Centennial Patron, your name will be displayed on a permanent bronze plaque by the entrance to the Bangor Opera House.
We’re hoping that 100 private individuals or families will become Centennial Patrons by donating $1,000 or more to the Bangor Opera House/Penobscot Theatre Company.
These gifts will help sustain the entire organization and spark the next century of imagination, encouragement, and inspiration in our community through the performing arts.
In these extraordinary times, this time of theatres all over the world being closed, stages dark and theatre artists out of work, we want to be a beacon of hope. We want to show the world that Maine has an artistic heart that is very much alive and very much loved.
We’re close to our goal with the pledge of 64 Community members.
We hope you’ll join us.
